Actors need for the short dark comedy Out Sold. A stylized look of a demise of the door-to-door salesman, and the rise of modern media marketing.
Synopsis: Bob Tracker (played by Mike McNamara), a 1960’s door-to-door salesman nearing the end of his successful career, is forced to confront a quickly evolving advertisement industry that threatens to render him obsolete. Can he make the toughest sale of his life, and stop the onslaught of T.V. powered consumerism?
Roles:
HELEN BECKSTEIN: White female, age 45-75. A retired, simple living, spitfire of a woman. Choosing good ‘ol fashioned elbow grease over the latest “home solutions,” Helen is perfectly content living an outdated lifestyle. Helen has broken the spirits of countless door-to-door salesmen, making her the dictionary definition of a “hard sell.”
T.V. PERSONALITY: White male, age 20-35. A flashy T.V. personality with sun-reflecting, pearly whites, and a perfectly cut suit: A commercial puppet trained to SELL SELL SELL! A figurehead of the mass media advertising movement.
