DISCOVERY CHANNEL LOOKING FOR COUPLES DATING 3MOS TO A 2YEARS WHO WANT TO BE PART OF A SIMPLE EXPERIMENT FOR A DISCOVERY SHOOT ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9th FROM 11-3 IN DAVIS SQUARE, SOMERVILLE, MA.
THIS IS ABOUT THE SCIENCE OF HOW BODY ODOR / PHEROMONES ARE EMBEDDED CUES WITHIN US THAT HELP US CHOOSE THE MOST BIOLOGICALLY COMPATIBLE MATE.
THIS IS GOING TO BE LOTS OF FUN WITH THE WORLD'S LEADING EXPERT ON THE PSYCHOLOGY OF SMELL. YOU WILL GET TO BE PART OF A GREAT PRIME TIME SERIES FOR DISCOVERY AND ITS A ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE!!!

CRITERIA:
1. COUPLES AGES 18-40
2. No one is a regular cigarette smoker (but not necessary)
3. Prefer Women NOT on BCP or other forms of hormonal contraception. (but not necessary)
4. Men (if possible some that habitually wear body spray, colognes etc and some that don't wear anything except antiperspirant).

Experiment:
Men wear a clean 100% cotton T-shirt to bed/sleep for 2 consecutive nights after showering before bed in ivory soap and not applying any scented products. Men do not eat garlic that day or smoke or drink alcohol before bed. Men place the T-shirt in a clean plastic bag during the day between nights and then place in bag and deliver to us on Wednesday, April 9th on the day of the shoot. Preferably all done the 2 nights before the day we film. If it has to be longer the bag with T-shirt should be put in a food-free clean refrigerator to maintain the odor.

Experimental Challenge:
Important that women not have colds or allergies that could compromise their sense of smell when they do the sniff test. Also they should not be wearing perfume/scented products, be chewing gum or have eaten within the last hour when they do the boy-friend sniff challenge.

We will place each of the T-shirts into individual but identical cardboard boxes (each box is numbered).
Women are then presented with each box one at a time and asked to sniff the T-shirt in the box and: 1) rate how pleasant and sexy the T-shirt smells to you on a 1-9 scale. 1 = not at all, 9 = extremely (write down rating for each box); 2) which box contains the T-shirt worn by your boyfriend ? (the boxes are numbered, and they pick the number they think is their boyfriend).

The sexiest/most pleasant smelling T-shirt for each woman is then identified and the box they think is their boy-friend is identified.

Questions:
1) Does the T-shirt they think smell's the best belong to their boyfriend?
2) Are they correct about the box containing the T-shirt worn by their boyfriend?
3) Does their boy-friend typically wear cologne etc or not? How does this impact on whether they are correct in choosing his box and also in how much they like his real body-odor?
4) Is there a box/T-shirt that most of the women tend to like best? If so, what does the guy who wore it look like? Is he the most symmetrical, most handsome, most wedge shaped body?
5) Do they want to reconsider their relationship now...haha?
