I am a 46 year old grandmother of 2 small boys.I\'ve recently shed 30 pounds, so I don\'t look like my pictures anymore. I am married to a chiropractor and we have 6 kids. (Four of whom are teenagers.) Anyone who has raised a child will realize how much tenacity I have. In order to raise that many well-rounded children in today\'s world, it takes heaps of strength, emotional stability, organizational skills and a lot of stick-to-it-tive-ness. I\'m great at multi-tasking.
I have always been a people-person, working in the restaurant and club business, owning a sales company and being a public relations coordinator for our busy chiropractic office. I have always been more of a night owl, than a morning dove, but sometimes, ya gotta do, what ya gotta do! (Having kids put an end to sleeping.)
Years of being very active and athletic have given me a muscular look. Nowadays, i do a lot of power walking and some gym time. I am a consultant in a $100 million nutritional company. In the past I have also written about 20 picture story books and 1 non-fiction book for middle graders. The latter closed a 1 year project .
Beside writing, I love to read and listen to music. When I have spare time, I like to work on ceramics. As a family, some of our favorite hobbies are snorkeling and camping. My husband and I are Koi enthusiasts. I am the chair person for many of the club\'s committees.
In the early 90\'s, 4 of my children participated in many beauty pagents and won. It was a hectic, expensive (I\'m really good at fund-raising) yet proud time of my life. One of my daughters was a very talented singer and shown like a bright little star when singing on stage, but she was very self- conscious when it came to the beauty part of pagentry. I always told her to smile bigger, look up, keep your chin up, blah, blah, blah. One day she told me, \"Mom you have no idea of what it\'s like up there. Why don\'t you try it? I bet you\'d be uncomfortable too!\"
In order to save face, in 1994 I participated in the North American Scholastic Pagent, running for Mrs. AZ. Being a mother of 4 and not very ladylike, I couldn\'t believe that I was doing it. I came in as 1st runner-up locally. The winner wouldn\'t go to Atlantic City, so, guess who got to go? My kid was right, when I was on national t.v. and pretending to be someone I was not, when it was suppose to be the real you, I was uncomfortable. (I\'m 5\' tall, not really pagent material) Anyway, I finished in 3rd place and never picked on my daughter again! I don\'t mind being the center of attention and I\'m pretty good at public speaking and acting, but I\'m not a liar. The whole pagent thing for me was down right lying, which makes me uncomfortable. So, if you are looking for a Miss America type, I\'m not your girl. But, if you need someone who is a normal average American female, that\'s me and I\'m available. (CHECK OUT MY KID\'S WEBSITES TOO! I have won, many sales awards, from multiple company\'s. I also have many awards for volunteerizm. This year I was voted Koi Person of the Year.
