I am a 37 year old Entrepreneur and Business Consultant in Odessa, Ukraine. Additionally, I own a Tourism Company, work as an actor and have many projects on the side. Previously, I have been an IT Consultant, Bartender, English Teacher, Substitute Teacher and Newspaper Reporter.
I am somewhat trilingual with English being my primary language, but having conversational skills in Russian and close to that in Spanish. As a traveler, I am told by people in many places that they were very impressed by my ability to impersonate their language sounds when copying them. Particularly sounds that Americans usually have difficulty with.
As a teacher, I was required to stand up in front of a classroom and give directions and information to upwards of 30 students. There are no scripts, but the delivery has to be excellent in order to hold the class' attention. As a bartender, I had one-on-one conversations with many people during each party and learning about them and entertaining them is a good way to get better tips.
A graduate of the University of Bristol in England where I attended from October 2001 through July of 2002, Bristol is ranked #3 in of the United Kingdom, behind only Cambridge and Oxford. Prior to my time in England, I spent three years at California State University Stanislaus studying Computer Science and Journalism. My time in England and Europe exposed me to many different accents which I can employ when I am surrounded by others who use them. One project while I was at Bristol, was the production of a movie. My group of four friends wrote, produced, shot, starred in and edited the movie that won the award for "Best Movie" out of all the entries. The selection was made by both the professor and our peers.
As a child, my family made me read out loud frequently. I also acted in school plays and did very well. My photographic memory at the time allowed me to remember vast amounts of information and recite it flawlessly. My memory has degraded a bit over the years (filled with junk from school), but it remains better than most.
My journalism experience taught me to be personable, just to walk up and ask people questions. It also sparked creativity because people would sometimes refuse to answer certain questions. Therefore you had to ask different questions that circled around the one you really wanted the answer to in order to trick them into answering. The journalism also helped my already good English skills immeasurably.
My computer experience has made me very accurate. Computers are binary machines, they only accept information that is right or wrong. If you make a mistake, the computer will repeat it. I try not to make mistakes.
